Dear Elementary Teacher,
Announcing Thistle Theatre’s 2010-11 season
Little Red Riding Hood The Gingerbread Boy
Brother Coyote and Sister Fox Momotaro (Peach Boy)
Quest for Planet X (the space musical)
Bring your class to affordable, quality puppet theatre. A great way to support classroom curriculum and learn about the art of puppetry at one of our three locations: Magnuson Park Theatre and Sunset Hill Community Club serving Seattle and the Bellevue Youth Theatre serving the Eastside.
Thistle Theatre offers 17 years of expertise in a variation of the ancient Japanese style of puppetry called Bunraku. The puppeteers, dressed all in black, manipulate the puppets from behind. With two or three puppeteers operating one puppet they skillfully bring realistic movement to the handcrafted puppets. This exciting season also features rod, body, shadow and blacklight puppets. Creative story telling and delightful music scores are hallmarks of our productions designed and built by artists in the Thistle Theatre studio.
- Each production runs 45 minutes. Please allow time for post show demonstration and Q and A.
- Education Guides align with EALRs, prepared by a certified teacher sent in PDF format.
- Tickets for one show $6 each, two shows $5.50 each and three or more shows only $5.00 each.
- $3.50 subsidized tickets available for student on free/reduced lunch program. (Order by phone only).
- Free parking and school bus unload zones at all three locations. Public transportation is a viable option at all three locations.
- Classroom teachers are free!
